Hello,
It had been an incredible roller coaster ride for me from a timid, bullied, and abused child to the confident, outspoken, and strong woman that I am now. Every life experience taught me something, whether to do things a certain way or to find an alternate approach. Unresolved inner child issues adversely impacted me for most of my early years until a beautiful realization dawned over me.
I have no control over my surroundings or people, but I do have power over myself. The change I was seeking externally was all within. As I began to make subtle positive changes in how I spoke, responded, and perceived situations, I started experiencing a magical shift in my external world as well!
Motherhood was responsible for a lot of changes in my life. One of the significant ones was being intrigued by these beautiful innocent souls. This got me interested in child psychology and an intense urge to reach out to as many children and parents by providing scientific, research-backed, and practical solutions to common challenges they face.
During my interactions with children for Social-Emotional Learning sessions, I am constantly impressed by how perceptive and thoughtful children today are. They have an extraordinary sense of self-awareness. But what they lack is the proper direction to make the most of all this exposure. If only we grownups would take the time to listen to what our children have to say.
This is when the parent’s role as a mentor becomes crucial. In my view, young children have no issues. The parents are the ones that require guidance. Hence, I work with both parents and kids simultaneously because this is a pivotal moment for both of you.
